A celebration of the region’s rich maritime history, the Merrimack River Maritime Festival includes tours of three ships that are part of Sail Massachusetts and a landside festival including interactive demonstrations, activities for children, a live concert and fireworks display. Last July, the lofty sails and wooden bows of the Mystic, Roseway and Spirit of Carolina thrilled thousands as they dropped anchor for tours and visits in the Merrimack River, as Salisbury hosted its first Tall Ships Maritime Festival.
