About the Merrimack River Maritime Festival at Salisbury Beach

The Merrimack River Maritime Festival at Salisbury Beach The Roseway Tall Ship Mystic Spirit of South Carolina Between July 19, 2008 and July 20, 2008, the Salisbury Beach Partnership will host the first annual Merrimack River Maritime Festival at Salisbury Beach, hosting three class A and B vessels on the Merrimack River. The three Class A and B vessels that will be docked for public viewing and tours at the Reservation for the two-day riverside festival include: the Spirit of South Carolina, a 140 foot replica of an 1879 two-masted schooner; the Roseway, a 1925, 137’ National Historic Landmark fishing schooner, which remains one of only six original Grand Banks Schooners; and the Tall Ship Mystic, a 170 foot three-masted ship that calls Mystic, CT home.

In addition to ship viewing and tours, a host of interactive educational demonstrations and activities abound for visitors under a tent adjacent to the Merrimack River at the Reservation.

On Saturday evening, Salisbury Beach Center will welcome the crowds for a spectacular fireworks display, live concert and the 1st Annual Maritime Chowdah Challenge & BeerFest from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
