The 1st Annual Sand and Sea Festival at Salisbury Beach was a celebration of one of Massachusetts’s most popular beaches and pristine natural resources North of Boston, Salisbury Beach.
Fun in the Sun
The Sand & Sea Festival highlights the many fun seaside recreational uses of our four mile shoreline by showcasing activities such as sea doo-ing, surfing and kayaking, as well as marine aquatic programming. On the sandside, activities such as kite-flying, yoga, family entertainment, live music on a beachfront stage, and the largest fireworks display north of Boston brought the Salisbury Center Beach alive during the festival.
Festival-goers experienced the many shops, arcades, food concession stands and nostalgia that have sustained the legendary beach destination since its beginnings in the1800’s as an elegant oceanside resort.
Exciting Changes Planned for the Future
From roller coasters to opulent hotels and dance halls, the Salisbury Beach waterfront attracted thousands of families to frolic, picnic and enjoy the sea and sand during the day, and dance in ballrooms or watch movies under the moonlight. As Salisbury Beach Center prepares for the excitement of a new Boardwalk in the near future, and the realization of a waterfront vision plan that includes a lively blend of residences, restaurants and retail offerings, now is an opportune time to introduce audiences to the renewed excitement the future will bring.
